Nature Somaliland is a twelve-year old local, no-profit wildlife conservation NGO.
In a country, where there is no tradition of backcountry tourism, let alone hosting birders from overseas, it has been gratifying to be highly rated overall by visiting clients on feedback on their experiences with us. In fact our business mainly thrives on word-of-mouth referrals. Considering the distances we travel and the lack of facilities along the way, we carry along our supplies and equipment. There is no lodge-hopping here ala other congested birding destinations in Africa!
For groups of four and up to eight clients, we advise on visa acquisition, hotel booking, transportation and visiting times to sensitive locales like Daallo Forest Reserve. We like to prepare our gear, acquire more if necessary, liaise with authorities regarding our schedule in the bush, organise escort police and perform much other minute planning for successful birding trips.
On occasion and depending on the season of interest, there may not be space to host clients properly. Please write us as early as possible. The earlier, the better. A year ahead of time is best for groups of six or eight.
Upon complete agreement on a trip (in its minutiae of where, when, how long, how much and so on with a client), which usually takes weeks and much back and forth emailing, we request a mandatory non-refundable deposit just in case a client cancels a trip for any reason.
